What They Should've Worn: ACA Edition

While Carrie Underwood's George Chakra dress was cute, it looked like something I would wear to junior prom. My pick for her would've been this fabulous electric blue Resort Ready to Wear 2013 Reem Acra gown:

Yes, Mike Eli of Eli Young Band did look great as always on the red carpet. But I noticed that he has previously worn either the exact jacket James is wearing, or a very similar one. I would love to see him rock this look more often with a jacket such as this one from the Moschino Men's Spring line from 2010.

Still in love with this Maison Martin Margiela for Jon Jones of Eli Young Band....

Jake took a huge risk recently at the CMA's wearing a leopard print blazer. While he classed it up at the ACA's in a very sharp black and white blazer, it would be great to see him still have fun and remain classy. Such as in this hidden zebra printed silk evening jacket from Lanvin.

Let's try and get Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum out of black! The colors on this gorgeous Gucci gown would look fantastic on her skin tone and hair color. Would also be figure flattering!

Last but not least, Miranda Lambert sure did make a statement in her flashy Reem Acra gown tonight. While Vegas is a great time and place to go all out as a disco ball, I feel THIS strapless beaded cocktail Reem Acra dress would've done her figure more justice.

Its All In The Details

Gloriana did a great job this year, and the glasses on Tom look so sexy! The only problem is Rachel's heels... While I love them, I feel if they were a darker shade of purple they would look sexier instead of fuzzy slippers.

While Carrie's George Chakra dress was fun and flirty, it was just ok. Something I would've worn to my junior prom quite honestly. But what I do love are her shoes! Brian Atwood fringe heels found HERE

Eli Young Band has continuously looked effortlessly good, although I do have a few minor critiques this time:
-Jon's maroon jacket just does not mix well with the shirt, its like throwing a dolce jacket over a nike shirt, they just don't go together. And the hat doesn't match either.... sorry Jon! I like each piece individually though!!!
-My only other critique would be for Chris to shave his neck, it would look make the look more polished. While he still looks great I keep hoping to see him in a retro dapper suit from the early 1900's, I think he could pull it off!

Kristin Chenoweth did a much better job this year for her ACA red carpet gown, wearing a beautiful Rafael Cennamo dress, it is simply too long. Take a few inches off the front and it would make her look taller and more polished.

ACA Worst Dressed

Time for the honest truth!

Now we all know that Hillary just announced her pregnancy, congrats to her and her husband! But really... this whole all black ensemble really needs to stop every time we see her. BLACK IS NOT ALWAYS SLIMMING! While she is barely even showing, even from the side, the black dress, tights, shoes, and long curly hair just makes her look even bigger than she really is. Very unflattering!

The blue shirt... love... blazer...ok...pants.....oh hell no.

Sorry, I just really can't get into this. I LOVE the fact thats its different, and out of the box though. Maybe it just doesn't photograph well? The jeans need to be a darker, dressier wash though.

Miranda in Reem Acra. Starting below the bust line, I LOVE this dress, it gives her amazing curves and is flashy! But the from the bust up? It makes her look reallllly wide and with that neckline it is very unflattering. Looks much better on the model HERE.

ACA Best Dressed

In no particular order, but it seems the guys did a better job this year than the ladies! Nothing wowed me, but still some great looks. Let's get started!

Florida Georgia Line looked very sharp in these nice suits and my favorite part are the details! Love how Brian wore a plaid jacket and Tyler in nice striped pants. Great job guys!

The most perfect grey jacket I've seen in quite awhile, and the pop of purple? Perfect! A+! Although Catherine is in bright white....ya'll know my rule!

Jake looks great in this blazer! A way better choice than his leopard outfit at the CMA's. Although you know how I feel about bright whites in the winter....... He is very lucky to still have made it onto this list!

Jana looked very Hollywood glam in this Theia gown. And of course my obsession with red lipstick never ceases!

Little Big Town has always done a consistent job on looking great on the red carpet. Karen is in a Helmut Lang gown (that can be found here ; and in which she looks WAY better in it than the model) and Philip Sweet is rocking an Alexander McQueen jacket! Fancy!
Luke can pull off just about anything. But of course he could wear a barrel and I'd be ok with it. The real star is his wife Caroline in a fabulous Alice + Olivia gown, found here!
A tad boring, yet cohesive, and minor details that aren't too flashy. Great job!

Beautiful Rachel Gilbert dress and great pop of color! My only critique is that horrible orange tan, in which her face makeup doesn't match and her unnatural blonde colored hair. Sorry Lauren, almost there!

Who Says You Can't Wear Pajamas?

Who says looking good can't be comfortable!? The number one excuse for people not looking put together is because they say they either don't have enough time, or they need to be comfortable. Well let me show how both can be done! All you need to do is take, in this case, a PJ top, add some bold accessories and heels and boom you're done!

A little red lipstick? Check!

 Bold statement necklace? Check!

Simple Chic

NOTE: Stupid me left the date/time function on the camera and can't get it off the pictures! So bear with me that it looks kind of weird right now

Who says you can't look fabulous in just a T-shirt? All it takes is a little red lipstick and some heels and boom, ready for a night out with the girls!!!!

What They Should've Worn: Part 3

#1 Kimberly Perry failed to impress in this black dress at the CMA Awards this year:

My picks:

This beautiful Reem Acra gown from the Ready to Wear Resort 2013 Collection:

OR:

Elie Saab (my obsession!) Mini-Sequined Gown:

OR:
For a simple more casual look: Nina Ricci butterfly-Burnout Velvet Dress:

#2 Hayden Panetierre looked fab in this Georges Chakra dress BUT it was too spring/summer

My Pick:

Emilio Pucci Sateen Peplum Dress:

#3 Brantley Gilbert's plain black suit jacket was unimpressive and just because he had a leather jacket UNDERNEATH it does not make it rocker.

My Picks:

While I am not sure how he looks in any other color than black, I do like that this Balmain Jacket is classy and rocker with studs surrounding the entire outer edges.

OR:
Armani Leather Jacket

What They Should've Worn: Part 2

#1 Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town wore this unflattering Notte by Marchesa metallic gown:

My pick: Gucci green emerald velvet with animalier effect. Karen can pull off so many styles I feel this could have made such a bold statement on the carpet and put her on the best dressed list.

OR
Naeem Khan Sequined Combo Gown if she wanted a more subtle look:

#2 While Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum looked stunning in this sexy Dolce & Gabbana number, I am simply tired of seeing her in all black

My picks:

Gucci Floral-Embriodered Tulle Gown (yes, I know it is black, but the detail is too ornately beautiful to pass up)

OR:

Carmen Marc Valvo Braid-Strap Satin Gown:

What They Should've Worn: Part 1

#1 Jennifer Nettles looked great almost 9 months pregnant in this Donna Karan gown, but I feel the neckline was unflattering.
Photo Courtesy of People.com and Jason Kempin/Getty Images
My picks:
Monique Lhuillier: This gown would've still worked with her baby bump, and the neckline would've been more interesting and flattering.
OR: Alexander McQueen: While I am not completely sold on this color, the sweetheart neckline and flow of this gown would've been more flattering:

OR
Even this Catherine Deane possibly could've worked and given her a much more glamorous presence to the carpet:

#2 While Shawna Thompson of Thompson Square looked the best I've seen her yet I feel her beautiful Catherine Deane gown was too much of a spring/summer color.

My pick:
This beautiful belted green Catherine Deane gown:

#3 Reba looked absolutely STUNNING in this vibrant blue dress. And while I don't have anything bad to say regarding it (heck I hope I can pull something off like that at that age!) it would have been nice to see her in a floor length gown and save the short dresses for a less formal event.

My pick:
Oscar De La Renta Sequined Scoop-Back Gown
